Dude you're missing the point and cherry picking your "facts".

No, low carb diets aren't more effective than low calorie.

Low carb diets reduce total calories so we're in a calorie deficit and we lose weight.

There's a shit load of research showing the macronutrient ratio makes LITTLE difference. What matters is our total calorie intake.

Argue all you want, if you're denying this simple fact, then its clear you're selling an agenda.

You're taking about the body preventing itself from dying!!

Dude, once someone is lean enough, they're not going to keep reducing calories. They should maintain calories to maintain a weight they're happy with.

Most of the population is obese.

Realistically, how many people ever reach such a low bodyfat level that their body goes into starvation mode? A very very low proportion of people. It's an issue primarily for people eating very low calories for a long period of time, like people with eating disorders.

You can't generalise this to the general population who are overweight and just want to lose weight.

You're complicating weight loss, which is the worst thing a person in your position should be doing.

Insulin in the grand scheme of weight loss has about 0.5% relevance to the conversation.

What has 99.5% relevance? Calorie deficit.

End of.
