Appreciate the response, but can't agree not to include carbs. Carbohydrates are our body's preferred source of energy - there's plenty of science that has established this. Without a sufficient source of energy to fuel our workouts, it's unlikely we'll reach the intensity levels required to actually stimulate an adaptative response. There's nothing wrong with carbs and to reject them because they're "not essential" is ignoring the many nutritional benefits of things like fruit and wholegrains.
